I didn’t think when I wrote “Some of My Story” the other day that I would garner such a massive response from you all.
It certainly touched a nerve with everyone.
I thank everyone who took time out of their day to read it and actually listen to the words I wrote.
For me it was probably the easiest post I have ever written. Most of the posts I write usually take 4-5 hours to compose, that one took about 1 hour.
It just went to show me that none of us are ever alone. We just have this perception that we are.
The thing is, none of our problems or issues are unique to us. I will guarantee you that at sometime, somewhere, someone has gone through pretty much the same thing as you. The thing that differs is how we interpret, understand and respond to our issues.
Shit that happens is not optional. Bad things happening to good people is not optional. Death is not optional.
Attitude – optional. Understanding – optional. Compassion – Optional.
Changing the Weather
What we tell ourselves will be what we become. If you are forever painting a victim picture that is what you will be.
You tell a child he is naughty; that is what he will become.
If you continue to feed the negative part of your life it will thrive. We can do this in a number of ways, but the most influential I have found is that you become the sum of the five people that you spend your time with.
If you work in a toxic environment, I will guarantee that you will bring that negative energy into other areas of your life.
Sometimes we all need to have a long hard look at ourselves and walk around in someone else’s shoes for a while. Feel someone else’s pain and gain some strength from their situation.
Practise some Gratitude. We have a lot to be thankful for.
